This is the darkest of the Delphiniums. This is unsurpassed for providing a dramatic, eye-catching display. Dark purple flowers with black bees appear in early summer and possibly again in autumn. Tall stately flower spikes are admired for their dignified appearance. An old-fashioned favorite for traditional perennial gardens. Effective in cutting gardens. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
