Fragrant blue-green foliage with 3-4" whorled purple flower spikes. This variety has darker blue flowers than most of the English Lavenders.

As well as for its unmistakable perfume, lavender has been recognized since Roman times for its healing and antiseptic qualities, its ability to deter insects, and for washing.
They are very particular to siting and must be in full sun with very well drained soil. The foliage should be cut back in the spring to accommodate the new growth.
