This herb is an aromatic, herbaceous, compact perennial with hairy leaves and small, white flowers. Most will agree, Greek oregano has a stronger pepper flavor than standard Oregano. Excellent in many various ethnic cuisines. Used for culinary, containers and attractive in rock gardens.
It is an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, B-complex, potassium, calcium, iron, and magnesium.
Grown outdoors, not prone to disease. Indoors, watch for aphids, spider mites and leafminers. Grows in any sunny, well-drained location. Prefers poor soil and hot, dry conditions. Stop harvesting outdoor plants six weeks before the first fall frost to allow the plant to prepare for winter.
