This is an unusual looking native. A durable native perennial with sword-like blue-gray leaves that resemble a Yucca plant. Creamy white ball-like blooms occur on undivided bracts. A very desert looking plant. Makes a fascinating specimen or accent plant. Unique cut flowers for fresh bouquets and dried arrangements.

Named because it was used as an antidote to rattlesnake bites.
Easy to grow in any sunny location. Even tolerates poor, sandy soil conditions. Keep on the dry side in autumn and winter. Remove faded flwoers or leave for winter interest.
